September 4, 2018 Nominations now open for 2019 BWA Denton & Janice Lotz Human Rights Award The Baptist World Alliance (BWA) has begun the process of accepting nominations for the 2019 Denton and Janice Lotz Human Rights Award. Nominations will close November 30, 2018. The award is intended to recognize and give visibility to women and men who have done outstanding work in defending and promoting human rights as defined by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights . Any Baptist individual, church, or organization can submit a nomination and any Baptist is eligible to receive the award. Persons may not make nominations on their own behalf. PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE AT EASTER 2018 Easter is the commemoration of the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who died on the cross as a sacrificial lamb to redeem us. The only beloved Son of God came to the earth to save us from death and fulfill the God’s purpose. The new convenant would be an everlasting convenant (Isaiah 55 :3). He gave VICTORY over eternal separation as the curtain hanging in the temple was torn in deux from top to bottom (Matthew 27 :51). Easter is also a time to remember both the God’s love but also the great mental, emotional and physical sufferings of the Lord. In the garden of Gethsemane he prayed « O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me except I drink it, thy will be done (Matthew 26 :42). Dear sisters, Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The BWUA conference held at Andrew Motel in Lusaka, Zambia was special both for lessons we learnt and fun we had. We found wonderful new friends who enriched our lives. According to the theme, we were « called to be influential beyond horizons ». The incoming EC members were appointed for the next 5 years and installed by the BWA-WD President. I take the opportunity to be deeply thankful to the Lord for calling us into leadership. I also congratulate you for accepting such a great challenge that can be delightful as well as stressful. I would like to quote the Ps 23 : 1 and declare «   The Lord is my shepherd ; I shall not want ». There are projects on the horizon within the next 5 years.
