Purpose of the Ministry


The Mission:
To encourage and celebrate unity in Christ among Baptist women of Africa and work towards peace, reconciliation, justice and development through prayer, witness and service.

The Vision:
Baptist women of Africa standing together, growing in effectiveness and impacting our world for Christ.

 The Objectives:
1. To help women grown to their full potential in order to impact Africa and the world around them for Christ
·         To encourage prayer as a vehicle for making changes in the world
·         To help women broaden their understanding of scripture especially those passages that can be open to different interpretations relating to women and the use of their gifts
·         To hold conferences for women at the sub-regional and continental levels that will provide opportunity for community building, inspiration, training and celebration
2.   To create awareness of and to meet specific human needs in Africa and beyond
·         To assist in specific projects aiming at the fulfillment of spiritual, physical, economic or social needs of women of Africa and around the world
·         To explore ways to have a voice in the appropriate arena in regards to issues affecting women
3.  To make known the distinctive ministry of the BWUA
·         To familiarize ourselves with the website that projects the distinctive characteristics of the BWAWD
·         To use the BWUA newsletter, Organ of News, in a way that increases the impact of the BWUA involvement in social ministries and spiritual growth
·         To use the BWAWD annual guide for the Baptist Women Day of Prayer
·         To provide an annual guide for the Africa Baptist Women’s Day of Prayer
4.   To discover, develop and share the various resources needed to achieve the mission of BWUA
·         To send Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer offering annually to     BWAWD
·         To seek to increase the Africa Day of Prayer Offering through creative and all inclusive ways
5.   To support the objectives and ideals of All Africa Baptist Fellowship (AABF)
